About This Course
This course prepares participants to lead the implementation of an AI management system conforming to ISO/IEC 42001, from initial gap analysis through to certification readiness.
Participants work through the full implementation sequence: establishing the scope and context of the AIMS, defining AI policy and objectives, conducting AI risk and system impact assessments, selecting and applying controls for data governance, transparency, explainability and human oversight, and establishing the monitoring, internal audit and improvement mechanisms the standard requires.
Substantial attention is given to the questions that make AI governance difficult in practice — bias and fairness, accountability across a supply chain of models and vendors, and the boundary between automated decision-making and human judgement.
The course concludes with the PECB examination leading to the Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Implementer credential.

Prerequisites
A general knowledge of artificial intelligence management systems and of ISO/IEC 42001 is required. The ISO/IEC 42001 Foundation course, or equivalent working familiarity with the standard, is the recommended starting point.
