About This Course
This course prepares participants to plan and lead audits of an AI management system against ISO/IEC 42001, applying the auditing principles of ISO 19011 and the certification requirements of ISO/IEC 17021-1.
Participants develop the competence to assess whether an organisation genuinely governs its AI systems or merely documents that it does: examining evidence of AI risk assessment, impact assessment, data governance, human oversight and post-deployment monitoring, and testing the operating effectiveness of the controls an organisation claims to have in place.
The programme covers audit planning, evidence gathering and sampling, the conduct of audit interviews, the writing of defensible findings, and the management of an audit team through to reporting and follow-up.
The course concludes with the PECB examination leading to the Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Auditor credential.

Prerequisites
A fundamental understanding of ISO/IEC 42001 and of artificial intelligence principles and concepts is required. The ISO/IEC 42001 Foundation course, or equivalent working familiarity with the standard, is the recommended starting point.
