About This Course
An audit is only as good as the judgement behind it. ISO 9001 audits fail not for want of checklists but because the auditor cannot tell a controlled process from a documented one, or cannot defend a finding when it is challenged.
This course prepares participants to plan, conduct and lead audits of a quality management system against ISO 9001, applying the auditing principles of ISO 19011 and the certification requirements of ISO/IEC 17021-1.
Participants work through the full audit cycle: establishing the audit objectives and scope, preparing the audit plan and working documents, gathering and sampling evidence on site, conducting audit interviews, evaluating conformity, and writing findings that hold up under scrutiny. Attention is given throughout to the difference between what an organisation says it does and what its evidence actually shows.
The programme also covers leading an audit team and managing an audit programme through to reporting, corrective action and follow-up.
The course concludes with the PECB examination leading to the Certified ISO 9001 Lead Auditor credential, together with an attestation worth 31 CPD credits.
