## About This Course

ISO/IEC 42001 is the first international standard for the management of artificial intelligence. It gives organisations a structured way to govern the AI systems they build, buy and deploy — addressing risk, transparency, accountability and human oversight rather than treating AI as an unmanaged technical capability.

This foundation course introduces the concepts and vocabulary of an AI management system (AIMS) and walks through the structure of the standard itself. Participants leave able to follow an ISO/IEC 42001 discussion with confidence and to understand what conformity would require of their organisation.

It is the entry point to the ISO/IEC 42001 pathway and assumes no prior knowledge of the standard.

Upon completing the training course, you can sit the certification examination. After passing, you will hold the PECB Certificate in ISO/IEC 42001 Foundation, together with an attestation worth 14 CPD credits.
